Links

A link connects one node to another.   A link is directional, i.e. it goes from one node to another.

Defining a link

To define a link, double-click the left mouse button on a node (or single-click and press the Enter key) and select the "Link to..." option.   Move the mouse to the desired "to" node and single-click again to complete the link.

Link numbers

Each link has associated with it a number (1..N).   This number establishes a priority / processing order (see Overview).   Data Splitter supplies a default number for each link, but this number can be overridden by the user.   To set a link number, double-click the left mouse button on the box in the middle of the link (or single-click and press the Enter key) and select Renumber from the drop-down menu.

Deleting a link

To delete a link:  Double-click the left mouse button on the box in the middle of the link (or single-click and press the Enter key) and select Delete from the drop-down menu.   Or, single-click on the link's box and press the Delete key.

Notes

After link renumbering or deletion, the program will renumber all the links from that node to give each link a unique number in the range 1..N, where N is the number of links emanating from the node.   Link order is preserved when automatically renumbering.
